NOW TAKING ORDERS.......The Melissae Skirt. £200 payment can be made in installments*
This is a full and flowing washed raw silk skirt, featuring metres of fabric embroidered with gold and/or silver bees all the way around and featuring 1 earth bee. The purpose of the earth bee is for grounding. To keep you tethered while the rest of you moves in a silk swathed flight of fancy.
It also serves as an exit point for all the energy created within the cloth through movement.
It has a smooth fitted front waist panel and elasticated at the back, the full width of the panel to create a flattering and comfortable, bulk free fit.
It also has a flowing hemline, rising up and down around the skirt. I put the raw silk through a washing process which removes all stiffness and rustle and making it fluid and silent. It also makes it machine washable and practical.
These skirts are currently being made to order and can be made in almost any colour or size. I will post fabric swatches or finished garments as often as I can but please contact me for discussions...anything is possible. (please note: the model in these pictures is wearing 2 skirts)
If you would like to commission one of these skirts you will need to get in touch and I will email you a diagram showing you how/where to take the required measurements. Discuss fabric and embroidery choices. If you have a specific requirement please don't hesitate to ask. Also please allow enough time, the bees are freehand machine embroidered in silver or gold thread on quality silks and take time.

Please not: although these skirts are machine washable, the silk will still react as normal to marking should you spill something down it, especially if you allow it to dry.The key to washing silk and removing stains is getting the whole garment wet at the same time, washing the whole thing and allowing the whole thing to dry, don't do a section of it will mark. Always hang silk inside out to dry. Love your silk and it will last you forever!
*I am really happy to take payment for items in installments and soon hope to be joining the own art scheme enabling quality craftmanship to become more accessible. Payment terms can be negotiated and a payment scheme can be etsablished and invoiced using paypal. Please note that you will not receive the garment until payment is made in full.
